Türkiye’de de alay edercesine “misafirhane” olarak adlandırılan göçmen alıkonma merkezlerinden biri olan Kumkapı Yabancılar Misafihanesi’nde göçmenler, yasal sınırı olmayan, bir aydan bir yıla hatta daha fazlasına uzayan sürelerde hapsediliyor. Niçin alıkondukları hakkında bilgilendirilmeyen, ne kadar zaman için kapatılacaklarını bilmeyen bu insanlar, ulusal ve uluslararası belgelerde mevcut olan tüm haklardan da mahrumlar.

Yakın zamanda İçişleri Bakanlığı “Yasadışı göçle mücadele” başlığı altında  yayınladığı bir genelge ile Misafirhanelerin “Geri Gönderme Merkezi” olarak adlandırılacağını ve bu merkezlerde bir dizi “iyileştirme” çalışmasının başlatılacağını belirtti.

Biz, Göçmen Dayanışma Ağı olarak herkesin koşulsuz serbest dolaşım hakkına ve istediği yerde yaşama özgürlüğüne sahip olduğunu ve kimsenin bu hakları kullandığı için hapsedilemeyeceğini savunuyor ve adı ister “misafirhane” ister  “Geri Gönderme Merkezi” olsun bu merkezlerdeki zulmün durması için bu yerlerin kapatılmasını istiyoruz.

Suçsuz göçmenlerin hapsedildiği bu merkezlerin kapatılması için sesimizi bir kez daha yükseltmek ve tutsak göçmenlere “yalnız değilsiniz” demek için herkesi 18 Nisan Pazar günü saat 14.00’da Kumkapı Yabancılar “Misafirhane”sine yapacağımız ikinci “iade-i ziyaret”e davet ediyoruz.

The Kumkapi Foreigners Guesthouse is one of the many migrant detention centers in Turkey where the irony of the term “guesthouses” overshadows the reality that in these centers, without any defined legal limits, migrants are imprisoned from one month to a year or even more. These people, who are not informed about the causes behind their detention, nor about how long they will be confined, are also deprived from exercising their basic rights upheld in national and international documents.

Recently the Ministry of Interior issued a directive under the title “Fighting irregular migration” where it is stated that the Guesthouses will now be renamed as “Return Centers” and that a host of “improvement” works will be initiated.

We, as the Migrant Solidarity Network, believe that every person has the right to free and unconditional movement and the freedom to live wherever he or she desires. No one should be imprisoned for practicing this right. To bring an end to the great injustices lived in these centers, whether named “Guesthouse” or “Return Center”, we demand that they all be shut down.

To protest these centers which imprison innocent migrants and tell those captive migrants that “they are not alone” we invite everyone to join us on our second “return visit” to the Kumkapi Foreigner’ “Guesthouse” on Sunday the 18th of April at 2 pm.

Neither Guesthouse, Nor Return Center!
Migration is not a crime!
